"How many performance artists does it take to change a light bulb?" was presented as a part of a group show, The Chicago Review of Economics, at the Green Lantern Gallery in Chicago.

This piece is an early attempt to tie my performance to the value of precious metals in particular and to explore ideas of value from both artistic and financial/economic perspectives in general.

I hired a laborer to follow a set of tasks for three hours during the opening, which mostly consisted of screwing and unscrewing the light bulbs around the gallery space. I also hired an assistant to document and oversee the project in my absence while I was attending a conference in Boston.

These workers signed contracts specifying their jobs and were paid in fine silver in the form of generic rounds.
